Rulout is a competitive inhibitor of PEP by binding strongly with EPSPS-S3P complex inhibiting biosynthesis of folates and aromatic amino acids in Shikimate pathway. Rulout is used for both Pre emergent and post emergent, it exhibits long term action. Rulout translocates inside the plant and kills from roots.
